Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNO): As the valley remains under tight grip of Covid crisis with hospitals and primary health centers facing huge load of patients, Kashmir Private Diagnostic Centers Association has submitted a proposal to Divisional Administration Kashmir of offering the voluntary services including Covid testing and vaccination.
President Private Diagnostic Centers Association Umer Iqbal Dhar while speaking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer-(KNO) said, being a part of the society they feel it is their responsibility to contribute towards the current covid-19 situation in the valley which is very challenging.
“We have submitted our proposal on volunteer basis and all the Labs and staff associated with the Association will help the Administration in Covid-19 testing and vaccination, if government provides us the testing kits and vaccines,” Dhar said. “Last year during covid-19 lockdown when there were asymptomatic covid-19 patients and OPD services/testing was temporarily suspended, our labs were on the fore front, conducting the tests of the patients which include CT Scan, Ultrasound, ECG or other tests.”
Association’s letter addressed to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, available with the KNO, reads: “Since the COVID-19 pandemic is posing a challenge to us all, we the private diagnostic service centres Association in Kashmir want to assist voluntarily the administration in this hour. “
The letter further states, “I urge you to utilize our services in testing and vaccination of the people in the valley. We urge the government to provide us testing kits and vaccination and we will offer free human resources and other utilities for this process. It will reduce rush on health centres and hospitals and will reduce the workload on health care workers of the government.”
Talking to KNO, Dhar said that he has got a good response from the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. “Our proposal has been forwarded to the concerned department for exploring the possibility,” he said—(KNO)
